Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As a Butcher, you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality meat products for our customers, ensuring that all items meet our stringent standards of quality and freshness. This position requires both technical skills and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
Responsibilities
- Remove skin, hide, hair, internal organs, and other unwanted parts.
- Cut or saw carcasses into manageable portions.
- Remove bones, gristle, surplus fat, rind, and other waste materials.
- Cut carcass parts into chops, joints, steaks, and other retail portions.
- Prepare meat for curing or further processing.
- Clean and sanitise tools, equipment, and work surfaces.
- Demonstrate full knowledge and experience within the industry, particularly with lamb and poultry.
- Carry out the full deboning process.
- Perform trimming to a high standard.
- Prepare standard cuts of meat for retail sale.
- Ensure all workspaces are sanitised in line with government health and safety guidelines.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Maintain strong attention to detail.

Skills
- Proven experience as a butcher.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of Halal meat requirements.
- Understanding of the dietary and cultural meat requirements of Muslim communities in the UK.

Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
