Motor Vehicle Technician
J&J Motors Nissan is looking for a skilled and motivated Motor Vehicle Technician to join our highly successful aftersales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles
- Perform routine maintenance services (oil changes, brake service, fluid checks, etc.)
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify vehicle issues accurately
- Repair or replace worn or defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and steering systems
- Test-drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Communicate clearly with service advisors or customers regarding vehicle conditions and repair recommendations
- Stay up to date with industry standards, tools, and repair techniques
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an automotive mechanic or technician
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems (engine, electrical, braking, suspension, HVAC, etc.)
- Ability to use diagnostic software and hand/power tools
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license
Required Qualifications:
- IMI level 3 or equivalent
- Experience with multiple vehicle makes and models
- Familiarity with shop management or diagnostic software
- Valid MOT testers licence (preferred but not essential)
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 17:00
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in various positions for extended periods
- Capability to lift and handle vehicle components
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment
