Ashfield House Veterinary Hospital is a well-established small animal veterinary hospital serving the Derby and Nottingham area for over 40 years, providing high-quality veterinary care with a strong focus on patient welfare and client service.
Position Details
- Maternity cover for fixed 12 month period
- Hours: 38 hours per week
- Working Pattern: Average 8-hour shifts
- Weekend Requirement: One in three Saturdays
- Location: Ashfield House Veterinary Hospital, Long Eaton and Bramcote
Key Responsibilities
Reception Duties
- Providing a warm and professional welcome to clients and their pets
- Managing appointments and telephone enquiries
- Handling client registrations, payments, and administrative tasks
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the reception area
Animal Care Assistant Duties
- Assisting the veterinary and nursing teams with patient care
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the hospital
- Preparing and cleaning clinical areas, kennels, and equipment
- Ensuring patients are comfortable and cared for during their stay
- Supporting stock management and general hospital duties
About You
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm and compassionate in a busy environment
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- A genuine passion for animal care and welfare
- Previous reception, customer service, or veterinary practice experience is desirable but not essential
- A positive team player with a flexible approach to work
