Conference & Events Executive
Ellenborough Park Hotel, Cheltenham
Salary: £25,272 per annum, plus commission
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including occasional weekends and bank holidays as required by the business.

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Conference & Events Executive to join our Revenue Office team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, converting enquiries into bookings, and ensuring every client receives an outstanding experience from their first enquiry through to their event.
Whether it's a corporate conference, business meeting, private celebration or special event, you'll play a key role in delivering seamless service while helping maximise revenue for the hotel.
What you'll be doing
As our Conference & Events Executive, you will:
- Respond professionally to conference and events enquiries by telephone and email.
- Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings using effective sales and negotiation techniques.
- Prepare quotations, contracts and event schedules accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Build strong relationships with clients and act as their main point of contact throughout the booking journey.
- Conduct show rounds of the hotel for prospective clients, showcasing our facilities and services.
- Maximise revenue through proactive upselling of accommodation, food and beverage packages, and additional event services.
- Ensure all booking information is accurately recorded and maintained within our systems.
- Liaise closely with multiple departments across the hotel to ensure clear communication about any upcoming events.
- Produce function sheets and event schedules, ensuring all operational teams have accurate information.
- Follow up enquiries and provisional bookings to maximise conversion rates and repeat business.
- Manage allocated key accounts and build long-term relationships with regular clients.
- Handle guest queries and resolve concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Support new team members with training when required.
- Assist with competitor research and market awareness activities.
- Maintain high standards of administration whilst delivering exceptional customer service.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
- A confident communicator with excellent telephone and written communication skills.
- Organised, accurate and able to manage multiple enquiries in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercially minded with a passion for sales and achieving results.
- Experienced in conference and events, hotel reservations, hospitality sales or a similar customer-focused role (preferred but not essential).
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office.
- A proactive team player who enjoys working collaboratively across departments.
- Able to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Flexible and willing to support the operational needs of the business.
