Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Play Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves creating a welcoming environment for families and children, ensuring the smooth operation of the cafe area, providing excellent customer service and ensuring all play zones are clean throughout each play session and at the end of each day. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering a positive experience, maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and supporting the overall atmosphere of our play cafe. Duties
- Welcome customers and assist with their needs in a courteous manner
- Prepare and serve food and beverages, adhering to food safety standards
- Operate the coffee machine, including making drinks to order (training will be provided)
- Serve food and drinks efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including play zones, tables, counters, kitchen area and bathrooms
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service during busy periods
- Support children’s play activities by ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately using basic maths skills
- Manage time effectively to ensure all duties are completed promptly during shifts
- Must be available to work from Thursday to Sunday 9-4pm, additional hours will be available during peak periods such as school holidays

Experience
- Previous hospitality experience or experience working in a food service environment is essential
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is desireable but full training will be provided
- Experience in serving customers with friendly professionalism
- Ability to prepare simple food items and beverages confidently
- Good organisational skills with effective time management capabilities
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
