Duties
- Supervise children during after school hours, ensuring their safety at all times in accordance with established policies.
- Lead and facilitate engaging activities such as arts and crafts, games, reading sessions, and educational exercises to promote learning and social interaction.
- Support children with homework and learning tasks in a patient and encouraging manner.
- Assist with meal or snack times, promoting healthy eating habits and good manners.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, needs, or concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organised environment by tidying up activity areas and ensuring all equipment is safe and in good condition.
- Support the planning and implementation of special events or outings that enrich the children's experience.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in childcare, teaching or similar roles is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and safety protocols.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English
- Passionate about working with children
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust with children, parents, and team members.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the after school program schedule.
