We are the sole distributor of Belzona’s world leading industrial repair composites and protective coatings across the UK. For more than 70 years, Belzona solutions have helped industries extend the life of mission critical assets—from pumps and pipework to vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and structural equipment.
Belzona UK is growing and we are looking for an Assistant Accountant who wants more than “just another finance job”. If you love real-world accounting, and want to be part of a friendly, down-to-earth team where your ideas are listened to, this could be the role for you.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be a key part of our finance team, working closely with the Finance & Admin Director, helping keep our numbers accurate, our controls strong and our managers informed. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts, including preparing and posting journals (accruals, prepayments, etc.).
- Maintaining the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and calculating & posting depreciation.
- Reconciling all balance sheet control accounts each month.
- Reviewing and analysing monthly VAT postings ready for submission via the Group VAT return.
- Supporting the management team with financial analysis and insight.
- Contributing to budgeting and forecasting with clear, useful financial analysis.
- Assisting with the year-end audit process.
- Helping maintain robust stock control processes.
- Providing cover for the Finance Administrator during leave.
- Working closely with Customer Services and Warehouse Fulfilment in our Hawarden unit.
- Supporting continuous improvement in ZOHO and other finance-related systems and processes.
As Belzona UK continues to grow, this role will evolve – offering you the chance to broaden your experience and step up over time.
We’re ideally looking for someone who is:
- AAT qualified or qualified by experience, with 3+ years’ solid, recognisable experience in industry (manufacturing, distribution, or similar).
- Confident with journals, reconciliations and management accounts.
- Used to real-world accounting, not just academic or purely theoretical university experience.
- Accurate and detail-focused, but able to understand the bigger commercial picture.
- Comfortable working with different teams and building good relationships across the business.
- Proactive and curious – keen to improve processes, not just follow them.
- Looking for a role where they can grow, develop and progress as the company continues to expand.
- An effective and confident communicator
This is a part time, office based, permanent position.
