Carewood Homes Ltd is a new Supported Accommodation provider supporting young people aged 16 and 17 as they prepare for adulthood. We provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where young people can develop the confidence and life skills they need to live independently.
We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and reliable Support Workers to join our growing team. If you enjoy helping young people overcome challenges, achieve their goals and build brighter futures, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
No two days are the same. You'll be supporting young people with practical life skills while providing emotional support, encouragement and guidance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.
- Supporting independent living skills including cooking, budgeting, shopping, cleaning and travel.
- Encouraging education, employment and training opportunities.
- Delivering planned key-work sessions.
- Supporting young people to attend appointments.
- Safeguarding young people and responding to any concerns.
- Completing accurate daily records and reports.
- Working alongside social workers and other professionals.
- Helping to create a safe, welcoming and supportive home.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about improving the lives of young people.
- Calm, patient and resilient.
- A good communicator with strong relationship-building skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible to work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.
Essential
- Experience supporting young people or vulnerable individuals.
- Understanding of safeguarding.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Current and up to date DBS
Desirable
- Experience in Supported Accommodation, Residential Childcare or Leaving Care services.
- Knowledge of the Supported Accommodation Regulations.
- Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, Children & Young People or equivalent.
