Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Passive Fire Protection Specialist to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and inspecting passive fire protection systems that enhance building safety and comply with fire safety regulations. Your expertise will help ensure the structural integrity of buildings against fire hazards, providing peace of mind for occupants and stakeholders alike. Duties
- Install passive fire protection materials such as fire-resistant boards, intumescent coatings, and fireproofing spray systems according to project specifications and schematics
- Conduct thorough inspections of existing fireproofing systems to identify deficiencies or damage and perform necessary repairs or reapplications
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to coordinate installation schedules and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to shape, cut, and secure fire protection materials accurately
- Maintain detailed records of installation progress, inspections, repairs, and compliance documentation for project tracking and quality assurance
- Assist in the preparation of surfaces through plastering, masonry work, or construction painting to ensure proper adhesion of fireproofing materials
- Follow all safety protocols related to working at heights or in confined spaces while handling roofing, masonry, carpentry, electrical components, or plumbing elements involved in fire protection systems
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction trades such as roofing, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work or related fields with a focus on fire protection systems preferred
- Strong knowledge of schematics and technical drawings relevant to passive fire protection installation
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, fabrication techniques, and construction painting processes
- Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations pertaining to passive fire protection systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints accurately
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail during inspections and repairs
- Physical capability to perform tasks that involve lifting heavy materials, working at heights or in confined spaces
