Overview
We are seeking passionate and skilled Chefs to join our culinary team at the Bugle in Yarmouth, on the Isle of Wight.
The ideal candidates will have a strong background in food production , demonstrating a commitment to excellence in hospitality. As member of our brigade, you will assist the Head and Sous Chefs in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Duties
- Assist the kitchen management team in planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities.
- Supervise kitchen staff and ensure that all team members adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and menus.
- Help manage inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages creativity and teamwork.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained properly and report any issues to the Head Chef.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of hospitality principles and practices within a restaurant environment.
- Proficient in food production techniques, including food preparation, cooking methods, and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of service.
- A passion for culinary arts with a willingness to learn new techniques and cuisines.
