Job Title: Seasonal Part-Time (Freelance) Horticultural / Garden Assistants
7- 14 hours per week
Overview:
We are currently seeking a Horticultural Assistant to support our gardening team over the Autumn & Winter. The ideal candidate will have good plant knowledge along with experience so be able to assist with various tasks relating to general garden maintenance & seasonal garden clearance tasks .
Responsibilities:
- Assist in garden maintenance tasks such as weeding, planting, splitting, shaping, pruning, general garden maintenance & clearance tasks.
- Use hand tools for gardening activities.
- Support in regular maintenance visits to client's in the Tavistock area (within 15 miles) with the ability to work on your own and/or as part of a team.
- Assist in grounds-keeping duties including hedge-cutting & strimming (where applicable).
- Utilise power tools for garden maintenance under supervision.
- Be able to transport yourself & tools to client's address when working solely.
Qualifications:
- Qualify to work as a bone-fide sub-contractor for various shifts between 7 & 14 hours a week.
- Posses good plant knowledge.
- Previous experience in garden maintenance or horticulture.
- Knowledge of using hand tools for gardening activities.
- Familiarity with plant growing techniques.
- Ability to work well on your own with instructions.
- (where applicable) Understanding of garden maintenance practices & power tools, eg hedge-trimmer
- Must have own transport & full driving licence.
