We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen and Deli Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting food preparation, serving customers, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, excellent organisational skills, and experience working in a fast-paced food environment. Please note that this position is strictly for non-students and requires a professional attitude towards work.
Duties
- Assist in meal and food preparation, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Support catering services for events and functions as required
- Prepare ingredients and assist with cooking tasks under supervision
- Serve customers efficiently at the deli counter, providing friendly and professional service
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, deli area, and equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
- Organise stock levels, restock supplies, and ensure proper storage of perishable items
- Follow all food safety protocols to ensure hygiene standards are upheld at all times
- Assist with general cleaning duties within the kitchen and service areas to ensure a hygienic environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices
- Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy setting
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills to interact professionally with colleagues and customers
- Flexibility to work shifts Tuesday to Saturday 8am to 3pm
