About the Role
MH Kenya Safety and Business Services is looking for an organised, detail-focused and proactive HSEQ Compliance Coordinator to support health, safety, environmental and quality compliance across business operations and client activities.
The successful candidate will help maintain compliance systems, coordinate inspections and audits, monitor corrective actions and support teams in meeting established HSEQ standards. You will work closely with operational staff, managers, contractors and external stakeholders to ensure that documentation, risk controls and workplace practices remain accurate, practical and consistently applied.
This role is suitable for someone with experience in health and safety, environmental compliance, quality assurance or operational risk who is ready to take greater responsibility for HSEQ coordination and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
HSEQ Compliance Monitoring: Support day-to-day monitoring of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements across operational activities.
Risk Assessments: Assist with preparing, reviewing and updating workplace risk assessments based on operational activities and identified hazards.
Method Statements: Review and maintain method statements and safe systems of work to support consistent and controlled operations.
Workplace Inspections: Conduct routine workplace and site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe conditions and areas requiring improvement.
Audit Coordination: Support internal HSEQ audits, prepare documentation and track findings through to completion.
Corrective Actions: Maintain corrective and preventive action records and follow up with responsible teams to ensure actions are completed on time.
Incident Reporting: Support recording and investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
Root Cause Support: Assist managers with identifying underlying causes of incidents and recommending practical corrective actions.
Compliance Documentation: Maintain accurate HSEQ records, registers, inspection reports and supporting documentation.
Policy Support: Assist with reviewing and updating health, safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures.
Legal Compliance: Monitor applicable compliance requirements and support implementation of required operational controls.
Training Coordination: Organise HSEQ training, toolbox talks and refresher sessions for employees and contractors.
Training Records: Maintain accurate records of completed training, certifications and competency requirements.
Contractor Compliance: Review contractor documentation, including insurance, risk assessments, method statements and relevant certifications.
Permit Coordination: Support permit-to-work processes where required for higher-risk activities.
Emergency Preparedness: Assist with emergency-response planning, drills and associated documentation.
Fire Safety Support: Maintain relevant fire-safety records and support routine checks and evacuation arrangements.
Environmental Monitoring: Support waste management, environmental controls and resource-efficiency initiatives.
Waste Compliance: Maintain records relating to waste handling, segregation and disposal where applicable.
Quality Monitoring: Support quality checks and ensure operational processes follow documented procedures.
Non-Conformance Management: Record quality or compliance non-conformances and monitor corrective actions.
Supplier Compliance: Assist with supplier and contractor quality or compliance assessments.
HSEQ Reporting: Prepare regular compliance updates, performance summaries and management reports.
KPI Monitoring: Track HSEQ performance indicators, including incidents, inspections, actions and training completion.
Trend Analysis: Review HSEQ data to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
Meeting Support: Prepare information for HSEQ meetings and record agreed actions.
Action Tracking: Maintain clear action registers and follow up on outstanding compliance items.
Document Control: Ensure HSEQ documents are current, correctly approved and available to relevant personnel.
Site Visits: Attend operational or client sites when required to support inspections, audits and compliance activities.
Safety Communication: Promote clear and practical health and safety information across teams.
Employee Engagement: Encourage employees to report hazards, near misses and improvement opportunities.
PPE Monitoring: Support appropriate use and management of personal protective equipment.
Equipment Compliance: Assist with maintaining inspection and maintenance records for relevant workplace equipment.
Client Requirements: Support compliance with client-specific HSEQ standards where required.
Quality Improvement: Identify practical opportunities to improve operational procedures and service consistency.
Management Support: Provide HSEQ information and administrative support to managers and operational teams.
Regulatory Readiness: Help maintain organised documentation for inspections, audits or external compliance reviews.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing development of HSEQ systems, processes and workplace standards.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Previous experience in health and safety, quality assurance, environmental compliance, facilities, construction, engineering or another operational environment.
HSEQ Knowledge: Good understanding of workplace health and safety principles and general compliance requirements.
Risk Assessment Skills: Experience preparing or reviewing workplace risk assessments.
Audit Experience: Familiarity with internal inspections, compliance audits or quality reviews.
Incident Management: Understanding of incident reporting and investigation processes.
Documentation: Strong ability to maintain accurate and organised compliance records.
Quality Awareness: Understanding of quality-management principles and corrective-action processes.
Environmental Awareness: Basic knowledge of environmental management and responsible operational practices.
Compliance Coordination: Ability to monitor multiple actions, deadlines and documentation requirements.
Analytical Skills: Ability to review information, identify trends and recognise potential risks.
Attention to Detail: Careful approach to documentation, inspections and compliance monitoring.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Stakeholder Coordination: Confidence working with managers, employees, contractors and external stakeholders.

Pay: £38,200.00-£40,000.00 per year
