We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Grounds Operative to join our team. The role involves maintaining a variety of outdoor spaces, including gardens, lawns, and larger public areas. You will work with a range of tools and equipment to perform tasks such as:
- Lawn mowing using walk-behind and ride-on mowers
- Hedge trimming
- Weed control (using weed spraying knapsacks)
- Tree pruning and care
- General grounds maintenance
Equipment used: Hedge trimmers, pole saws, chainsaws (with training), and weed spraying knapsacks. PA1 & PA6 training will be provided for weed control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform grounds maintenance tasks across commercial, domestic, and public sector sites.
- Operate machinery such as mowers, hedge trimmers, and chainsaws (training provided where required).
- Apply weed control measures using knapsacks (training for PA1 & PA6 certification will be provided).
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain tools and equipment, reporting any defects.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar grounds maintenance position is desirable.
- A valid driving licence is essential.
- Certificates in operating plant machinery and chainsaws are desirable but not essential (training will be provided).
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to undergo PA1 & PA6 training for weed control.
