Senior Project Manager
We are seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, high-impact business and technology initiatives within a large enterprise environment. The Senior Project Manager will work closely with executive sponsors, business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to define project scope, establish measurable outcomes, manage risk, and maintain momentum across multiple workstreams. The successful candidate will bring a disciplined approach to project governance, stakeholder engagement, resource planning, and financial management. You will be expected to resolve delivery challenges proactively, communicate clearly at all levels of the organization, and create the conditions for teams to perform effectively. This is an opportunity to influence enterprise change, improve operational capabilities, and deliver sustainable outcomes that create meaningful value for customers, colleagues, and the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex projects, ensuring agreed scope, schedule, quality, budget, and business outcomes are achieved.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including milestones, deliverables, dependencies, resource requirements, and governance checkpoints.
- Partner with executive sponsors and business stakeholders to define project objectives, success measures, priorities, and decision-making processes.
- Manage cross-functional project teams across business, technology, operations, finance, risk, legal, and third-party suppliers.
- Establish and maintain project governance structures, including steering committees, status reporting, escalation routes, and decision logs.
- Identify, assess, document, and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
- Oversee project budgets, forecasts, purchase orders, and financial reporting in collaboration with finance and procurement teams.
- Facilitate workshops, planning sessions, stakeholder meetings, and project reviews to drive alignment and timely decisions.
- Monitor project performance using relevant metrics and provide clear, accurate reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Manage changes to scope, schedule, cost, or resources through formal change-control processes and impact assessments.
- Coordinate vendor and supplier activities, ensuring contractual commitments, deliverables, and service expectations are met.
- Coach project team members and support the adoption of consistent project management standards, tools, and practices.
- Lead project closure activities, including transition planning, lessons learned, benefits tracking, and documentation handover.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Seven or more years of project management experience delivering complex, cross-functional business or technology initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders, dependencies, workstreams, and third-party suppliers.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid delivery approaches.
- Proven ability to develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and delivery roadmaps.
- Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, issue resolution, change control, and quality assurance practices.
- Experience preparing executive-level presentations, dashboards, status reports, and concise recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated financial management capability, including budget tracking, forecasting, cost control, and business case support.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure in a fast-paced, complex enterprise environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence without direct authority and build productive cross-functional relationships.
- Experience in regulated, financial services, technology, professional services, or large-scale corporate environments is preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM Project Professional Qualification, AgilePM, Scrum Master, or similar certification is preferred.
