Affinity Flying Training Services (Affinity) provides world-class flying training and aircraft support services for the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS). We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Continuing Airworthiness Support Engineer (CASE) to join our Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) team.
This position is based at RAF Valley and offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the continuing airworthiness management of our aircraft fleet, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational performance.
About the Role
As a Continuing Airworthiness Support Engineer, you will support the Continuing Airworthiness Manager and wider Airworthiness team in maintaining the continued safety and compliance of Affinity's aircraft fleet.
You will be responsible for activities including maintenance programme management, technical reliability monitoring, airworthiness compliance, and the assessment of mandatory directives, modifications, and repair solutions.
Salary:
Up to a maximum of £60,130.83 per annum (including any applicable Airworthiness Review approval uplift) dependant on qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake continuing airworthiness management activities in accordance with CAMO requirements.
- Coordinate and support the development and management of Aircraft Maintenance Programmes (AMPs).
- Monitor and assess Service Bulletins (SBs) and Airworthiness Directives (ADs).
- Support aircraft reliability and defect monitoring activities.
- Liaise with OEM Field Service Representatives and external regulatory authorities.
- Review and improve CAMO procedures and processes.
- Participate in airworthiness reporting and compliance activities.
- Support the management of ARC and airworthiness review processes.
- Provide technical support to continuing airworthiness activities across the fleet.
- Deputise for the Deputy Head of Airworthiness where appropriate and within delegated authority.
About You
You will have current or recent experience within a UK CAA Part CAMO or Part M approved environment and possess a strong understanding of continuing airworthiness principles and aviation regulations.
Essential Experience
- Experience working within a UK CAA Part CAMO / Part M approved organisation.
- Experience developing and managing Aircraft Maintenance Programmes.
- Understanding of maintenance control systems such as Veryon Tracking+ or similar.
- Experience with reliability and defect monitoring systems.
- Experience working with National Aviation Authorities and/or EASA.
- Experience with Design Organisations and Part 21 environments.
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems, occurrence reporting and investigations.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants should hold one of the following:
- Recognised Aeronautical Degree; or
- Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML); or
- A minimum of 10 years' experience within aviation maintenance or continuing airworthiness.
Additional qualifications in Part CAMO/Part M, Human Factors, SMS, and related airworthiness disciplines would be advantageous.
Desirable Experience
- Minimum five years' experience managing continuing airworthiness activities.
- Airworthiness Review Staff approval experience or eligibility.
- UK MOD or military aviation experience.
- Experience operating within CAP 562 Leaflet B40.
- Previous experience in a Continuing Airworthiness Support Engineer role.
- Experience using Veryon Tracking+, Centrik, or similar systems.
