Role Description
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Logistics Coordinator to join our Logistics Services team based in Immingham.
This role is responsible for coordinating customer logistics activities, managing transport bookings, supporting customs clearance processes, and ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, suppliers, hauliers, shipping lines, and internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate import shipments and associated logistics activities.
- Manage transport and shipping bookings.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Liaise with hauliers, shipping lines, terminals, and customs authorities.
- Process and monitor customs clearance activities.
- Resolve operational issues and provide customer updates.
- Maintain accurate operational and financial records.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience within logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of UK customs clearance procedures and import declarations.
Desirable
- Experience using Descartes e-Customs software.
- Knowledge of CDS, GVMS, and UK customs processes.
- Experience with container shipping and transport operations.
