Job Title: Electricians & Electrical Mates
Location: Houses of Parliament, Westminster, London

Overview
We are looking for experienced Electricians and Electrical Mates to support a key programme of electrical surveying and basic works at the Houses of Parliament. This project involves non-intrusive inspections, documentation, and light electrical tasks related to the assessment of existing systems.
This is an early phase of a larger, long-term programme, and maintaining consistency across shifts is essential due to the sensitive and complex nature of the site. We are ideally seeking reliable individuals who can commit to steady work on over the project duration.
Hours
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in electrical surveying and documentation of building systems
- Support the tracing and identification of electrical components
- Label and record basic site observations in a clear, structured format
- Communicate effectively with site teams and project management
- Follow established guidance and safety protocols
- Maintain tidy and accurate records of progress
Electricians may additionally be responsible for:
- Reviewing and verifying data collected by mates
- Providing shift summaries or simple reports
- Offering technical guidance where required
Requirements
- Parliament Pass (Essential) – current or previously held
- ECS/CSCS card or equivalent
- Asbestos Awareness and Working at Heights certificates
- Electricians: 18th Edition and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent experience)
- Mates: Demonstrable experience or proof of training
- Good communication and basic IT literacy (e.g., using email, marking PDFs/drawings)
- Awareness of working in sensitive environments like live public or heritage buildings
