Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Carpenter for 1st and 2nd fix work to join our construction team. This role requires and experienced carpenter to work on Comercial properties in most aspects carpentry. As a Carpenter 1st & 2nd fix, you be required to work on your own and as part of the team on wide range of jobs from contract work, shop fitting and occasionally domestic job.
Responsibilities
- Perform 1st fix carpentry tasks such as framing, wall lining, door and window installation, structural timber work and roofs.
- Execute 2nd fix carpentry including fitting skirting boards, architraves, cabinetry, and other finishing touches And shop fitting.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to cut, shape, assemble, and install various materials.
- Fabricate custom components on-site or in workshops as required for specific project needs.
- Assist with roofing tasks, ensuring proper installation of roof trusses and sheathing.
- Support other trades by providing carpentry expertise during plumbing, electrical, masonry, or construction painting tasks.
- Conduct heavy lifting safely to move materials and equipment around the site while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry with a focus on both first and second fix work within the construction industry minimum 15 years experience.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication, assembly, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Familiarity with roofing installation methods and heavy lifting procedures.
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret architectural plans accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to safety standards on-site.
- Physical stamina for demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights when necessary.
This role is for a self employed carpenter registered for CIS Payments.
Pay: £200.00-£230.00 per day
