We are looking for an Electro Mechanical Field Service Engineer (with initially a strong bias towards Healthcare Ultrasound and Ophthalmology) and other disciplines as and when required and trained. This is a UK field based role , predominately based working from a home location within easy access to the M62/M1, ideally located within a 15 mile radius of the Huddersfield / Leeds area, to cover a customer base across the North and Northwest of England , with some travel across into Northern Wales. Out of area working, occasional national and European travel could be required and should be expected from time to time.
The role will be responsible for carrying out installations, servicing, moves & changes, upgrade, modification, and repair of Medical and Ophthalmic equipment as required. The role holder will also be trained and expected to carry out similar tasks on other relevant equipment which may fall outside of the medical sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- To carry out the installation, servicing, moves & changes, upgrade, modification, and repair requirements of the company customer base as requested.
- To always apply a professional, reactive, and proactive service to our customers.
- Problem-solve in a responsible and methodical manner whilst carrying out effective customer liaison skills to ensure total customer satisfaction.
- Ensure effective communications are maintained with Area Manager’s , Team Leaders and other Veritek staff as required.
- To be flexible to work within other regions of the UK within given notice as required.
- To attend sites within city locations which may involve using public transport from time to time.
- To attend and pass any necessary product or skills training programmes.
- To ensure call closure procedures are always followed.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork and company system updates are completed correctly and returned within correct timescales.
- Effectively maintain vehicle stock inventory.
- To manage customer returns, disposal of returned capital equipment and parts in a compliant timely manner to ISO and WEEE procedures
- Be responsible for ensuring safe working practices under the Health & Safety Acts.
- To always demonstrate appropriate driver behaviours.
- To always act in the best interests of the business and our customers/partners.
Successful candidates will possess the following skills, knowledge and experience:
- Previous engineering experience in a medical or related environment would be beneficial, any direct experience working with ultrasound equipment would be a distinct advantage.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good core engineering skills and knowledge.
- Electrical/Electronic/Software Engineering experience.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Smart appearance.
- Organised and punctual.
- Good telephone manner.
- Strong communication skills
- Reactive to customer needs.
- Clean driving licence.
Additional Requirements:
Must have a current up to date passport or be able to apply for one immediately. May sometimes be required to work early starts and/or late finishes. Core 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday plus 1 in 4 Saturdays (additional 9 hours)
