Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Despatch/Shipping Operative to join our operations team. This role involves managing the efficient dispatch and receipt of goods, and maintaining safety standards within the warehouse environment. Experience in warehouse operations, including materials handling would be benefical.
Duties
- Assist with packing orders for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Load and unload lorries using appropriate equipment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Handle materials safely, ensuring proper storage and organisation of goods
- Operate pedestrian forklift truck to load and unload vehicles. Full training will be given
- Use SAP ERP system to process despatches and update records accurately
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, including preparing goods for dispatch and verifying incoming deliveries
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
- Support stock replenishment activities such as stocking shelves and organising storage areas
- Conduct mechanical checks on equipment such as forklifts to ensure operational safety
- Strong materials handling skills with the ability to lift heavy loads safely
- Ability to perform packing tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team
Physical fitness to handle heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or moving around the warehouse. Pay: £21,200.00-£26,000.00 per year
