Duty Manager – The Plough, Elstree

The Plough is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Duty Manager to join our management team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a busy hospitality environment and enjoys leading from the front. You'll be responsible for delivering excellent guest experiences, supporting the team, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across the pub, restaurant and garden.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading shifts and managing the day-to-day operation of the venue
- Supporting, motivating and developing front of house team members
- Delivering exceptional customer service and resolving guest queries professionally
- Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, presentation and service are maintained at all times
- Assisting with stock control, ordering and cash handling procedures
- Supporting the General Manager in achieving sales, labour and service targets
- Maintaining compliance with licensing, health & safety and company procedures
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to get involved wherever needed
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Personal Licence preferred but not essential
