Peartree and West Horndon Surgeries are a patient focused and excelling health care provider for patients in South Ockendon and West Horndon localities. We currently consist of 8,000 patients with a our West Horndon site as a dispensing practice. We are constantly looking to improve our practices and take on new staff to help further our goal of great healthcare. We try to work in a family type environment and look after our staff and colleagues. Our surgery has 3 Partners, one nurse and one healthcare assistant. Our dispensing team consists of one dispensary manager and 3 Pharmacy Dispensers.
We are seeking a new Pharmacy Dispenser to join our practices that has been serving our community for 80 years. Ideally we want the candidate to already have an NVQ 2 or 3 qualification. We are happy to support funded training for courses if required. Wages will depend on the NVQ level and experience of the candidate applying. We are part of the NHS pension scheme and can review wage levels if the candidate wishes to opt out of this scheme. The candidate needs to be able to work as part of the dispensary team at West Horndon and Peartree surgery, and have good communication skills and confidence with patients.
Responsibilities:
- Verify the accuracy of prescriptions and the credentials of those filling them.
- Be familiar with all state laws regarding pill counts and the storage of dangerous drugs.
- Be able to stock shelves and prepare medications in an organised, confidential manner.
- Communicate with colleagues effectively, including relaying information regarding dangerous drug recalls and safe handling procedures.
- Be aware of possible drug interactions that could harm patients.

Pay: £14.50-£15.50 per hour
