About the Role
An established specialist SEN school in Croydon is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to teach and support pupils with a range of additional needs in a highly supportive environment that places pupil wellbeing, communication, and individual progress at the centre of everything it does.
The school supports pupils with a variety of needs including Autism (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), speech and language needs, SEMH, and associated communication difficulties. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that are tailored to each pupil's individual learning profile and EHCP outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver creative and engaging lessons that meet the needs of pupils with SEN
- Differentiate learning to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum and achieve success
- Develop and implement personalised learning strategies based on EHCP targets
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Support pupils' communication, social development, and emotional wellbeing
- Work closely with teaching assistants and multidisciplinary professionals
- Track, assess, and report on pupil progress and achievement
- Contribute to annual reviews and wider school development initiatives
- Encourage independence, resilience, and confidence in all learners
What We’re Looking ForEssential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching in either mainstream or SEN settings
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet a range of learning needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, patient, and flexible approach to teaching
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable:
- Experience supporting pupils with ASC, SLD, MLD, SEMH, or speech and language needs
- Understanding of communication-focused teaching strategies
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, AAC, or sensory-based learning approaches
- Experience working within a specialist SEN school or resource provision

Pay: £211.75-£322.37 per day
