Contract: Fixed term for 1 year (January 2027 – January 2028), continuation subject to funding.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Young People Cornwall while completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Therapies Practice (Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - Children, Young People, and Families) at the University of Exeter.
The Trainee CWP will be trained over the course of a year to deliver brief, focused, evidence-based psychological interventions for young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, such as anxiety, low mood, and common behavioural challenges. Intensive clinical supervision and practice development will be provided.
Key Qualifications:
- A minimum Level 6 qualification (degree level) in a relevant subject (e.g., psychology) for the Postgraduate Diploma or a Level 5 qualification for the undergraduate pathway. - Experience working with children and young people and families in 1-1 and group settings.
- A commitment to evidence-based practice, young people’s participation, routine outcomes monitoring, promoting shared decision-making, and collaborative practice with children and families.
- The ability to balance clinical and academic responsibilities effectively.
Training Details:
- Training will commence in January 2027. Timetable provided on employment.
- The trainee will attend University-based taught and self-study days as required by Exeter University and work in the service using their developing skills on the remaining days.
