We are looking for a reliable, organised and friendly Lunch Collection & Kitchen Assistant to join our nursery team. This is an important role, ensuring our children receive their hot lunches on time while maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming kitchen environment.
Main Responsibilities
· Collect hot lunches from our Verwood setting.
· Transport meals safely and hygienically to our Redhill setting in Bournemouth.
· Ensure food arrives on time and is transported in accordance with food hygiene procedures.
· Check food temperatures where required.
· Dish up and serve lunch for the children.
· Wash up and clean the kitchen and equipment after lunch.
· Prepare afternoon tea for the children.
· Keep the kitchen clean, organised and well stocked.
· Follow all food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures.
· Carry out any other reasonable kitchen duties as required.
Essential Requirements
· Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
· Access to a reliable vehicle.
· Motor insurance that includes business use.
· Vehicle must be roadworthy, taxed and have a valid MOT.
· Reliable, punctual and able to work to deadlines.
· Friendly, caring and able to work as part of a team.
· Good communication skills.
· Able to lift and carry insulated food containers safely.
· Comfortable working in a busy childcare environment.
Desirable
· Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or childcare setting.
· Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to complete one).
· Knowledge of food allergies and dietary requirements.
