We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Band 4 Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner to join our Physiotherapy team at Wexham Park Hospital, working across Orthopaedic wards.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
Have inpatient orthopaedic experience as a physiotherapy technician, therapy assistant or assistant practitioner.
Enjoy supporting patients through assessment, rehabilitation, discharge planning and onward referral following admission to the orthopaedic wards.
Are ready to manage your own caseload, treating non-complex patients independently within agreed competencies.
Are keen to contribute to the development, support and supervision of Band 2–3 colleagues within the team.
Would value working in a busy, rewarding environment where excellent patient care, teamwork and professional development are central to the role.
What the role involves
Post-operative assessment, treatment and progression of rehabilitation plans, with support where required.
Assessment and treatment of appropriate non-complex orthopaedic patients, including those managed under the orthopaedic service.
Oversee the management of medical ward caseload within the orthopaedic physiotherapy service.
Provision, adjustment and education around mobility aids and equipment where required.
Supporting safe and timely discharge planning through effective communication with patients, families and the wider MDT.
Contributing to the induction, development and supervision of physiotherapy assistant staff.
Participating in the OT/PT weekend working rota as part of the wider therapy service.
