Mel & Ron Watkins Funeral Services Ltd is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and professional Funeral Operative to join our dedicated team on a full-time basis (40 hrs) (Monday – Friday 08.30 – 16.30) with regular mandatory participation in an out-of-hours rota (evenings, weekends, and bank holidays) for night-time removals.
This is a hands-on and deeply meaningful role supporting the respectful care of the deceased and the smooth delivery of funeral services for the families we are privileged to serve.

About the Role
As a Funeral Operative, you will support a wide range of duties including first calls, mortuary support, Chapel of Rest preparation, coffin preparation, pallbearing, chauffeuring, floral tribute arrangements, vehicle readiness, and professional contact with bereaved families and partner organisations.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is
· Compassionate, respectful, and able to remain composed in sensitive situations.
· Reliable, punctual, and committed to high professional standards.
· Comfortable working both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
· Physically able to meet the requirements of the role, including lifting, bending, and carrying coffins with dignity.
· Able to work 40 hours a week, but also flexible with working hours and able to participate in the out-of-hours rota.
· A holder of a full UK driving licence, as driving duties are essential.
