Waste Services are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our Recycling Collections Team as a Waste Operative (HGV Class 2 Driver).
This is a key operational role where you will work as part of a collection crew, undertaking both driving and loading duties to deliver an efficient and high-quality recycling service to households across North Lincolnshire.

The Role
You will initially be assigned to the driver pool, operating a range of collection vehicles and working closely with crews.
As the driver, you will take responsibility for supervising your crew and ensuring that service standards, safety requirements and operational targets are consistently met.
This is a physically demanding role involving outdoor working in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Driving HGV Class 2 collection vehicles safely and efficiently
- Leading and supervising your collection crew on a daily basis
- Completing daily paperwork and operational checks
- Identifying contamination and issuing rejection labels where required
- Engaging with members of the public and providing advice on recycling schemes
- Ensuring appropriate PPE is worn at all times
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times
- Managing all aspects of a collection round, including vehicle, crew and service delivery
- Attending training and engagement days when required (with prior notice)
- Working occasional Saturdays to support service delivery in lieu of bank holidays

About You
We are looking for individuals who:
- Hold a full HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
- Have a valid CPC Driver Qualification Card
- Hold a valid digital tachograph card
- Have recent HGV driving experience
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Have a good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Are able to work effectively as part of a team and lead others
- Are committed to delivering excellent customer service
- Have a strong awareness of health and safety practices
