We are looking for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Nursery Manager to lead our nursery team and maintain the highest standards of care, education and safeguarding.

About the Role
As Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery. You will lead and support the staff team, ensure compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage and maintain high standards across safeguarding, education, health and safety and parent partnerships.
You will work closely with the Directors and wider management team to continuously improve the nursery and ensure that children receive the best possible start.
Main Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the nursery.
- Leading, motivating and supporting the nursery team.
- Ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintaining safe staffing levels and ensuring ratios are met.
- Managing staff rotas, deployment, supervision and performance.
- Supporting recruitment, inductions, probation reviews and staff development.
- Monitoring the quality of care, teaching and learning throughout the nursery.
- Ensuring the nursery delivers a high-quality and inclusive EYFS curriculum.
- Supporting children with additional needs and working closely with the nursery SENCO.
- Building strong and professional relationships with parents and carers.
- Managing complaints, concerns, accidents and incidents appropriately.
- Ensuring records, policies and procedures remain accurate and up to date.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, hygiene and food safety.
- Supporting nursery occupancy, enquiries, tours and new registrations.
- Ensuring the nursery is ready for Ofsted inspections and regulatory visits.
- Working within nursery rooms when required to support ratios and model good practice.
Essential Requirements
- A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification or above.
- Previous experience in a nursery leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Experience managing and developing a staff team.
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience as a Nursery Manager or Deputy Nursery Manager.
- Level 5 or above qualification in Early Years or Management.
- Designated Safeguarding Lead training.
- SENCO experience or qualification.
- Paediatric first-aid certificate.
- Experience of an Ofsted inspection.
- Safer recruitment training.
