The Role
An opportunity has arisen for Robotic Simulation / Virtual Commissioning Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. We are looking for well-rounded Simulation Engineers who will be responsible for analysing products and process design feasibility and support the development and optimisation of the process, tooling and facility from concept through to installation and start of production. They create detailed robotic simulations to virtual commissioning level and prepare all supporting documentation. They also need to be able to communicate with customers to give feedback on design intent and deliverables as per customer specifications.
Main responsibilities:
● Building out and optimisation of simulation cells according to customer layout requirements.
● Performing reach and access studies to validate product, tooling and process compatibility, collision detection and operator ergonomics.
● Support engineering updates and feedback loops.
● Perform robot selection according to load and reach requirements.
● Setup and validation of all service functionality.
● Setup and validation of robot collision zones and safety configuration.
● Detailed path creation with all correct signals, commands and attributes.
● Validation of sequence of operations and cycle time using RCS.
● Perform virtual commissioning of completed cells with controls team.
● Support buyoff activities with customers at major project milestones.
● Compile OLP deliveries and all supporting documentation.
● Support onsite commissioning activities and feedback loops.
Desirable experience & qualifications:
● Process Simulate/Robcad BIW experience
● Virtual Commissioning
● Experience working with JLR, BMW, VOLVO, RIVIAN or TESLA simulation standards beneficial
● RRS and RCS
● ABB RobotStudio
● ABB, Kawasaki, KUKA robot experience beneficial
● CAD Visualization/Interrogation (Catia, NX)
● Strong Microsoft Office skills
● Script writing using Visual Basic, Python or C++ beneficial
● Experience with PLM software such as Teamcenter beneficial
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £45,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
