The ideal candidate will be committed to maintaining high standards of productivity and safety, with a keen interest in horticulture and farm maintenance. Responsibilities
- Assist with fruit harvesting, sorting, and packing to ensure quality standards are met
- Operate irrigation systems and perform basic maintenance to ensure optimal crop growth
- Use hand tools and power tools for equipment repair, maintenance, and general farm tasks
- Support animal care activities where applicable, including feeding and health monitoring
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and assist with repairs as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas to promote safety and efficiency
- Assist with general farm maintenance tasks, including the use of mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting
- Support the implementation of horticultural practices to optimise crop yield
Qualifications
- Experience or knowledge in horticulture or agriculture is preferred but not essential; willingness to learn is important
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems and equipment repair techniques
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment safely
- Good organisational skills with the ability to perform basic maths for measurements and calculations
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Animal care experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
