The Role
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Field / Workshop Forklift Engineer to join our growing team. This role involves a combination of workshop-based work and attending customer sites to carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standards, minimising downtime for our customers, and delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Carry out routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and safety checks.
- Attend customer sites to perform breakdown repairs and scheduled servicing.
- Complete job sheets and service reports accurately using company-provided technology.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Keep company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working order.
Requirements
- Previous experience servicing and repairing forklifts, plant machinery, agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles, or similar equipment.
- Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
