About the Role:
At Ohio Syrup Food Innovations Ltd, quality is central to everything we produce. From ingredient sourcing and manufacturing controls to finished product release, we are committed to maintaining reliable systems that protect consumers, customers and our reputation.
We are looking for a Principal Quality Systems Manager who can take ownership of our quality management framework across the business. You will strengthen existing processes, improve compliance standards and ensure that quality requirements are consistently applied throughout our manufacturing and supply chain operations.
This is a high level, hands on position for an experienced quality professional who can combine technical expertise, sound judgement and practical leadership.
Why Work With Us?
The Environment:
Our Lisburn operation brings together quality, production, supply chain and commercial teams in a collaborative working environment. You will work closely with colleagues across the business and have direct visibility of how quality decisions influence operational performance.
Quality Focus:
We view quality as more than an audit requirement. It is a core part of our commercial and manufacturing strategy. You will have the authority to recommend improvements, challenge ineffective processes and help shape long term quality standards.
Meaningful Responsibility:
You will manage important quality systems while remaining close to day to day operations. Your recommendations will directly support food safety, customer confidence and continuous improvement.
Professional Growth:
You will be supported with relevant technical training, industry events and professional development opportunities to keep your knowledge current.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management System Ownership:
Maintain, improve and standardise the company quality management system. Ensure that procedures, policies and records remain accurate, practical and compliant.
Audit and Compliance Management:
Plan and support internal audits, customer audits and third party certification activities. Track findings and ensure that corrective actions are completed within agreed deadlines.
Corrective and Preventive Actions:
Lead investigations into quality incidents, recurring issues and process failures. Identify root causes and establish effective corrective and preventive measures.
Document Control:
Oversee quality documentation, including procedures, specifications, work instructions, audit records and controlled forms.
Supplier Quality:
Work with procurement and supply chain teams to assess supplier performance, investigate material concerns and maintain appropriate supplier approval controls.
Continuous Improvement:
Use quality data, complaints, nonconformance trends and operational feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
Training and Guidance:
Provide quality systems training to employees and support managers in applying quality procedures consistently.
Stakeholder Management:
Present quality performance, compliance risks and improvement priorities to senior stakeholders in a clear and practical manner.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
At least 6 years of experience in quality assurance, quality systems or compliance within food manufacturing, ingredients, beverages, consumer goods or another regulated production environment.
Quality Systems Knowledge:
Strong working knowledge of quality management systems, audit programmes, document control, corrective action processes and continuous improvement methods.
Industry Standards:
Experience working with recognised food safety or quality standards such as BRCGS, ISO 9001, HACCP or equivalent frameworks.
Leadership:
Previous experience guiding quality teams, mentoring colleagues or leading cross functional quality improvement initiatives.
Analytical Skills:
You can review complex quality information, identify patterns and translate findings into clear corrective actions.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the confidence to work with production teams, suppliers, auditors, customers and senior management.
Mindset:
You are organised, objective and solutions focused. You understand when immediate action is required and when a longer term system improvement will deliver better results.
