Head Chef – Airline Catering

Salary: £40,000 to £45,000
Deluxe Staffing Limited is recruiting an experienced and passionate Head Chef on behalf of a leading airline catering client.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead a busy, high-volume catering kitchen producing exceptional meals for some of the world’s leading airlines. You will manage and develop a large kitchen team while ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, safety and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a large kitchen team.
- Manage high-volume food production in line with strict airline specifications.
- Maintain full compliance with HACCP, food safety and health and safety requirements.
- Plan kitchen production around demanding flight schedules and service deadlines.
- Manage food costs, waste, stock levels, labour budgets and kitchen KPIs.
- Maintain excellent standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and kitchen processes.
- Encourage innovation and continuous improvement across the operation.
- Work closely with operational teams and airline partners to meet customer expectations.
- Ensure the kitchen remains organised, safe and audit-ready at all times.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef or Senior Kitchen Manager.
- Strong experience in high-volume catering, hospitality, airline catering or food production.
- Proven leadership and people-management abilities.
- Excellent knowledge of HACCP, food safety and quality-management systems.
- Experience managing budgets, labour, stock control, food costs and kitchen performance.
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Calm and decisive when working under pressure.
- Passionate about developing people and maintaining exceptional standards.
- Flexible and comfortable working within a 24/7 operation.
- Airline catering or large-scale production experience is desirable but not essential.
