HGV Class 1 Driver -
Pegasus Staff Services are looking for HGV C+E drivers to join their client on a temp to perm basis. The depot is based in DE21 (Derby). You will be delivering mainly Pharmaceutical goods. Some handball may be required but it is minimal.
Start times between 0900 and 1500
(You will be kept on a consistent time each week but will be within that window). Full training will be provided.
Working days are Monday to Friday, some Saturday and bank holiday work will be required on a rota basis.
Salary starts at £16.43p/hr. Overtime is paid after 48 hours.
Duties
- Operate HGV vehicles in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-journey checks to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery schedules and minimise delays
- Secure loads properly, especially when transporting flatbed cargo, ensuring safe transit
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with class 1 HGV licences
- Knowledge of current road traffic laws and safety standards for commercial vehicles
- Familiarity with route planning and navigation tools
- Previous experience in delivering goods via commercial driving routes is advantageous
