Job Title: Recruitment Consultant – Interim Accounting & Finance
Location: Edinburgh, City Centre (Hybrid)
Annual Salary: £26,000 to £28,000 + uncapped commission | OTE £35,000 to £40,000 in year one
AJ Connect is growing, and we're looking for someone at the early stages of their career to join us as a Recruitment Consultant.
This isn't a seat at the table. It's a voice at it.
You'll work directly with the founders, focused on interim and contract Accounting & Finance appointments, with a UK-wide remit supporting SMEs across renewables, manufacturing, IT & tech, and construction.
From day one you'll have exposure to senior finance professionals and business leaders at some of the most exciting SMEs in the UK, giving you a genuine grounding in sales and relationship-led recruitment.
What you'll be doing
- Identifying and approaching SMEs with interim/contract finance needs, and building relationships with finance leaders and candidates
- Managing the full recruitment lifecycle, from client brief through to placement and aftercare
- Sourcing, screening, and interviewing interim and contract finance professionals
- Building and maintaining a pool of readily available interim finance talent
- Generating new business through calls, networking, and market activity
- Negotiating terms of business, day rates, and contract details with clients
- Managing candidate compliance, referencing, and onboarding
- Providing market insight and career advice to candidates to build long-term relationships
- Keeping the CRM up to date to support a clear, live pipeline
- Working closely with the founders to prioritise roles and shape desk strategy.

Working setup
HQ'd in Edinburgh, hybrid and flexible. Three days in the office, two from home.
