We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Senior Care Assistant (Nights) to join our compassionate care team at Rowandale Residential Care Home. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality support and supervision to fifteen residents during overnight hours, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your leadership skills will be essential in maintaining a calm, respectful environment while overseeing care delivery and supporting junior staff. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise care staff during night shifts, ensuring all residents receive attentive and personalized care
- Oversee the implementation of individual care plans, adjusting as needed to meet residents’ changing needs
- Monitor residents’ safety and well-being throughout the night, responding promptly to any emergencies or concerns
- Maintain clear communication with team members, residents, and their families to ensure transparency and trust
- Complete medication rounds.
- Complete detailed documentation of care activities, incidents, and observations in accordance with regulatory standards
- Support the development and review of care plans, ensuring they reflect residents’ preferences and health requirements
- Assist with administrative tasks using IT systems to record care activities and update resident records accurately
Qualifications
- Proven experience in senior care or a similar role within a care home environment, with supervising or leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
- Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to follow detailed instructions precisely
- Valid driving license is desirable for supporting resident outings or errands
- Familiarity with systems used for documentation and record keeping in healthcare settings
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care and safety
- Supervising experience demonstrating leadership qualities and the ability to motivate a team
