This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded QS who wants to take the next step in their career and play a key role in shaping the commercial function of a growing property services business.
Clementine Services is a growing multi-trade property services contractor delivering electrical, heating, appliance and maintenance services across domestic, commercial and public sector markets throughout the North East of England.
The Role
This is a hands-on commercial role focused on ensuring all completed works are accurately measured, valued, applied for and recovered.
You will be responsible for commercial control across a range of property maintenance, housing and framework contracts, ensuring no entitlement is lost through poor records, missed variations or delayed applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit Applications for Payment.
- Measure and value completed works against Schedule of Rates contracts.
- Manage variations, instructions and change control processes.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and contract documentation.
- Reconcile measured, billed and certified positions across contracts.
- Challenge under-certification and protect contractual entitlement.
- Monitor payment notices, pay less notices and contractual deadlines.
- Produce clear commercial reporting for senior leadership.
- Support tender reviews, contract pricing and commercial risk assessments.
About YouEssential
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor, with significant experience operating in a similar role and environment.
- Strong knowledge of Schedule of Rates (SOR) contracts.
- Experience within social housing, local authority, responsive repairs, planned works or property maintenance environments.
- Good understanding of JCT, NEC and Construction Act payment procedures.
- Experience with applications for payment, valuations and variations.
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of contract performance.
Desirable
- Experience leading or mentoring junior QS resources.
- Experience improving commercial processes and reporting.
- MRICS, MCICES or equivalent qualification.
