Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable Driver / Scaffold Labourer to join our team.
This is a very good opportunity for the right individual to develop practical and technical knowledge in scaffolding, learn directly on site, and build a long-term career in construction.
The role will involve driving a company Transit van, helping load and unload scaffold materials, supporting scaffolders on site, keeping the van clean and tidy, and taking care of the vehicle and equipment.
You will be paired with an extremely experienced and highly skilled scaffolder, giving you the chance to fast-track your learning and become a capable scaffolder much quicker than in a standard labouring role.
Hours and pay:
- Pay: £110 - £150 per day based on experience and skills.
- Start time: 6:00am at the yard, or 6:00am to pick up the scaffolder you will be paired with.
- Site start time is usually around 7:00am to 7:30am.
- Finish time will depend on the day there will be a mix of early finishes and overtime.
- Saturday overtime may be available where agreed in advance with the candidate.
Requirements:
- A full and valid UK driving licence is essential.
- We would strongly prefer someone with no points on their licence.
- You must have a good attitude, be physically fit, and be capable of carrying heavy scaffold materials.
- You must be extremely reliable, punctual, and eager to learn. We do not want anyone unreliable as it’s essential works are carried out in timely fashion due to clients relying on us to meet deadlines.
- You must turn up to work on time every day.
- Any time off must be agreed beforehand.
Experience
- Previous experience in construction or labouring roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to scaffolding assembly and site safety protocols.
