Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Tailor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a passion for garment construction and alteration. As a Tailor, you will be responsible for creating, altering, and repairing garments to meet the specific needs of our clients. This role requires both creativity and technical skill, ensuring that each piece is tailored to perfection.
Duties
- Measure clients accurately to determine the appropriate fit for garments.
- Alter existing garments by adjusting seams, hems, and other components as needed.
- Repair damaged clothing items, including mending tears and replacing zippers or buttons.
- shorten jacket selevees from shoulder to keep the original shape of the slevees.
- must be able to do the fitting on ridesmaid dresses as customers demands.
- Maintain an organised workspace and ensure all tools and materials are kept in good condition.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their tailoring needs and preferences.
- Stay updated on current fashion trends and tailoring techniques to enhance skills and service offerings.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tailor or in a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and various tailoring tools.
- Strong knowledge of different fabrics and garment construction methods.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and understand their requirements.
- A creative mindset with an eye for design will be advantageous.
