GCS Logistics are looking for experienced LGV drivers to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering, collecting and handling Hi-Tech equipment, whilst meeting our client’s needs on site times, Ensuring the Health and Safety of you and other remains paramount focusing on product security and protection at all times.
The ideal candidate will require a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. We are looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Check paperwork: make sure you have all delivery / collection notes before leaving depot
- Daily Vehicle checks report any defects / damage immediately to the transport office, also log any defect in the defect book
- Check load is secure and that all deliveries are loaded
- Ensure the Health and Safety of you and others is paramount at all times and that the correct PPE is worn at all times
- Full and accurate use of tachographs using the correct modes at all times
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable at all times
- Installation and de-installation of high-tech equipment which would involve unpacking removing manually items from pallets/packaging positioning were customer requests, which could mean items being manually carried, pushed or lifted to ground floor level or upstairs
- Paperwork control on site to completion as to the client’s requirements
- Manual handling skills to include Electric Stair Barrow, Tail lift, Hydraulic Skoots, Machine Barrow and Pallet Truck
- Call in all deliveries and collections once completed advice of any failed deliveries / collections
- Accurate labelling of any collections or returned aborted deliveries
- Remove all waste material on return to depot
- Basic Site Surveys
- Unload any returned goods into the warehouse
- Report to debrief hatch and hand over paperwork for debriefing
- Complete digital tachograph records accurately and hand in for downloading
- Ensure that all waste product is segregated daily after each delivery, when returning to the depot deposit wastes in the required containers/areas
- As and when directed assisting with cleaning the depot and yard areas
- As and when directed assisting with any warehouse duties
- As and when directed assisting with any duties
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Maintain a clean driving record
- Ensure that loads are loaded properly
- Report any mechanical problems or concerns to management immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications/Requirements:
Valid driver's license and clean driving record (no more than 3 points in the last 5 years)
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent understanding of Driving Laws and Tachograph regulations
- Manual Handling
- Tail lift operation
- Competent in the use of Electric Stair Barrow’s (not essential as training will be provided)
