P G Oxley Funeral Service - Frinton, Clacton and Walton We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and professional individual to join our team casual Funeral Service Operatives on a zero hour contract
This is a rewarding opportunity to support families during one of the most important moments of their lives by helping deliver a dignified and respectful funeral service. Working on a casual basis, you'll be called upon as required to assist with funerals and other funeral-related duties. The position offers flexible hours suitable for individuals seeking casual employment.
Responsibilities
- Assisting Funeral Directors during funeral services.
- Bearing and carrying coffins with dignity and respect.
- Driving company vehicles where required (subject to licence requirements).
- Preparing and presenting vehicles to a high standard.
- Supporting the transfer and care of the deceased.
- Assisting with the setting up and running of funeral services.
- Maintaining a smart appearance and providing excellent customer service to families, clergy, crematoria, cemeteries, and other professionals.
- Taking part in the out of hours on call rota
We're looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate, respectful, and empathetic.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with availability.
- Well presented and professional at all times.
- Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling duties.
- Comfortable working as part of a team.
- Able to remain calm and composed in sensitive situations.
- In possession of a full, clean driving licence
No previous experience in the funeral profession is necessary, as full training will be provided. Experience in customer service, healthcare, hospitality, or similar caring roles would be an advantage.
