Swarthmore Care Home is an independent not-for-profit care home set in beautiful, landscaped gardens in the desirable village of Gerrards Cross providing high quality person-centered care to the residential and dementia market.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Catering Assistant and a Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team.
Kitchen Porter - 2 days p/week (some weekend work required) hours between 8am - 3pm with ½ unpaid break. Washing up and putting all utensils and crockery away, ensuring deliveries are put away properly with stock rotation a priority and keeping on top of the cleaning rota.
Kitchen Assistant - 2 days p/week (some weekend work required) hours between 11.30am - 8pm with ½ unpaid break. Role requires giving the Chef more direct assistance with serving lunch, preparing vegetables and potatoes, making light dinners for residents, washing up etc. You would be required to be alone in the kitchen from 3pm -8pm ensuring dinner is served to residents (with carers help) and the kitchen is left in the correct way.
Essentially you will be a good communicator with a can-do friendly attitude. Experience of working in a commercial kitchen is not essential and demonstrable transferable skills will be strongly considered.
