Hair Chair Available at Studio SHY, Lewes
Our wonderful resident hairstylist is heading off on the adventure of a lifetime, which means a rare opportunity has opened up at SHY.
We're looking for one or two experienced self-employed hairstylists to join our studio from Monday to Saturday. We'd also love to hear from experienced hair extension specialists whose work complements the SHY ethos.
SHY is home to a carefully curated community of independent artists and therapists across hair, nails, skin, aesthetics, piercing, massage, brows and beauty. Every business here is independent, but together we've created one of Lewes' most recognised beauty and wellness destinations.
Our clients come to SHY because they trust the experience. Beautiful interiors. A calm atmosphere. It's a place clients enjoy spending time in, and somewhere creatives enjoy coming to work.

The space
- Self-employed chair rental with a sliding scale, depending on how many days you take.
- Available Monday to Saturday. Take the full week or share the space with another stylist.
- Run your business your way. Set your own prices, manage your own diary (with our support) and keep 100% of your earnings.
- Bring your own products, tools and existing clientele.
- Benefit from being part of the SHY community, with marketing support, social media exposure and opportunities for client referrals between resident businesses.
We're looking for someone who
- Has an established client base and experience working independently.
- Is an experienced hairstylist or hair extension specialist with a portfolio of exceptional work.
- Is confident cutting, colouring and styling all hair types and textures.
- Takes pride in creating beautiful work and client experience.
- Wants to build their business somewhere that feels calm, creative and beautifully designed.
