At UCL, we are London's Global University—an institution driven by innovation, collaboration and a commitment to making a positive impact across the world. Our Professional Services (PS) Hub brings together HR, Finance, Estates and IT to deliver efficient, customer-focused services that enable our staff and students to thrive.
As part of the HR Services Compliance team, you'll play an important role in ensuring UCL meets its responsibilities as a UKVI sponsor. Working in a collaborative and supportive environment, you'll contribute to maintaining the highest standards of immigration compliance while helping to continuously improve the systems and processes that support our international workforce.
Please note this is a sixth month fixed-term contract.
We're looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Immigration Compliance Data Officer to join our HR Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, ensuring accuracy, and making a real impact behind the scenes.
Reporting to the Staff Immigration Compliance Manager, you'll support the University's UKVI compliance obligations by maintaining accurate records, validating data across multiple systems, monitoring visa expiry dates, and ensuring documentation is audit-ready. You'll produce compliance reports, identify data discrepancies, and help drive continuous improvements to compliance processes.
This is a varied role where you'll work with confidential information, collaborate with stakeholders across the University, and contribute to delivering a professional, responsive service while ensuring UCL remains compliant with UK immigration requirements.
You'll be someone who enjoys working with data and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. You're naturally organised, methodical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
You'll bring experience from an administrative, HR, compliance, or data-focused environment, with confidence using databases, spreadsheets and reporting systems. You're analytical and proactive, able to identify inconsistencies, resolve issues, and continuously look for ways to improve processes.
Most importantly, you'll be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the professionalism to handle sensitive information with discretion. Experience of UKVI sponsorship compliance, HR systems, or audit processes would be an advantage, but we're equally interested in candidates who are keen to develop their expertise in this specialist area.
As well as the exciting opportunities this role presents, we also offer some great benefits some of which are below:
- 41 Days holiday (27 days annual leave 8 bank holiday and 6 closure days)
- Additional 5 days’ annual leave purchase scheme
- Defined benefit career average revalued earnings pension scheme (CARE)
- Cycle to work scheme and season ticket loan
- Immigration loan
- Relocation scheme for certain posts
- On-Site nursery
- On-site gym
- Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay
- Employee assistance programme: Staff Support Service
- Discounted medical insurance
