Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Commercial Vehicle Body Builder to join our team, no previous experience required, but a background in mechanical work via work experience or hobby will help. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and modifying bodies for commercial vehicles, including lorries, vans, and specialised transport units. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Construct, assemble, and install vehicle bodies according to specifications and safety standards.
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and fit components accurately.
- Perform modifications or repairs on existing vehicle bodies as required.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the build process to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely, utilising appropriate equipment when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and uphold high standards of workmanship.
Experience
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in working with various tools and equipment.
- Experience using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc., is essential.
- Competence in operating power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Prior experience working on commercial vehicles or within the automotive industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
