Working as part of the removals team, the main duty of a porter is to ensure the safe loading and unloading of customer's goods. Excellent customer service skills are required, along with attention to detail and excellent levels of care and attention. Teamwork is critical in this role.
Confidentiality is also essential in this role, and the successful candidate must adhere to the company's policies and regulations regarding service and professionalism.
The role will involve some late days and some weekends. The employee is expected to have flexibility around days and hours and will need to be physically fit and strong. We cannot guarantee fixed finishing times. Most staff report to the yard at 8am to start, although again a degree of flexibility is required around this.
The role can involve cross channel runs and nights away, although this is offered out on a rotational basis to all staff.

We are a company that invests in our staff, we will provide full removal and packing training etc. In the past, we have provided HGV and forklift training for our staff.
