About the Role
JFM Workplace Ltd is seeking a reliable and proactive Facilities Operative to support daily operations across two busy Ecolab buildings. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, waste management, compliance checks, and general site presentation across production, laboratory, office, warehouse, and welfare areas.
You’ll play a key part in ensuring the site remains safe, clean, and operational for all employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping & Site Presentation
- Maintain cleanliness across QA, Goods-In, Despatch, Production, Rotomoulding, Stores, and Laboratory areas.
- Clean shower and welfare facilities.
- Vacuum production and rotomoulding mats as scheduled.
- Ensure all areas remain safe, tidy, and presentable.
Waste Management
- Daily collection and disposal of general waste and recycling across Buildings 52 and 53.
- Empty waste and recycling bins across production, stores, QA, laboratories, Goods-In and Despatch.
- Monitor laboratory waste streams and arrange compliant disposal.
- Transfer hazardous waste to designated disposal locations.
Compliance & Safety
- Conduct Legionella monitoring checks.
- Support peroxide labelling and storage compliance.
- Follow all environmental, health, safety, and waste procedures.
- Report hazards, maintenance issues, and housekeeping concerns.
- Replenish consumables in washrooms and welfare areas.
- Grit pathways during winter to ensure safe access.
General Site Support
- Maintain external areas and rear building spaces.
- Carry out routine inspections of welfare areas and receptions.
- Support smooth operation of manufacturing and laboratory activities.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or facilities cleaning.
- Understanding of safe cleaning practices and COSHH awareness.
- Ability to work independently and manage a structured workload.
- Strong attention to detail and a reliable work ethic.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience in manufacturing or laboratory environments.
- Knowledge of waste segregation and recycling processes.
- Experience with compliance checks (e.g., Legionella).
- Manual handling training.
