We are a small professional garden maintenance business based in Shirley, Southampton providing services to private customers.
We are seeking a dedicated Gardener to join our team in providing private garden maintenance. In this role, you will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining healthy plantings, and ensuring the overall aesthetic appeal of private gardens. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors and develop your skills.
Responsibilities
- Plant, prune, water, fertilize, and care for a variety of flowers, shrubs, trees, and other greenery using hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct garden maintenance tasks such as mowing lawns, edging beds, mulching, and weed control to keep outdoor areas tidy and healthy.
- Monitor plant health regularly, identify pests or diseases early, and implement appropriate horticultural treatments.
- Assist with seasonal planting projects and garden redesigns to enhance visual appeal throughout the year.
- Operate gardening equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety protocols.
Requirements
- Good plant knowledge, with a strong understanding of horticulture principles.
- Familiarity with hand tools such as pruners, fork, rakes, and hoes; experience with battery tools, lawn mowers, hedge cutter, strimmers, pole pruners, leaf blowers
- Passion for gardening and landscape maintenance with an eye for detail.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Strong physical stamina; able to lift heavy materials and perform manual labor as needed.
- Proactive attitude toward learning new techniques in gardening.
- Driving licence

Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
